Ways of Becoming a Member

It is available in four ways:

For individuals who are trainees, practitioners, service managers and those with a general interest in play therapy, filial play and therapeutic play in countries where PTI has an affiliated organisation.

By becoming a member of the affiliated organisation such as PTUK, PTC (Canada), PTIrl (Ireland) etc you will also automatically become a member of PTI.
For individuals who are trainees, practitioners, service managers and those with a general interest in play therapy, filial play and therapeutic play in countries where PTI does not have an affiliated organisation.

Join PTI as a direct individual member
For organisations whose trainees, practitioners, service managers and others have a general interest in play therapy, filial play and therapeutic play in countries where PTI has an affiliated organisation.

Organisations may become corporate members of the affiliated organisation such as PTUK, PTC (Canada), PTIrl (Ireland) etc. Members will also automatically become a member of PTI.
For organisations whose trainees, practitioners, service managers and others have a general interest in play therapy, filial play and therapeutic play in countries where PTI does not have an affiliated organisation.

Benefits of Membership
Play Therapy International (PTI), with its Affiliates is the largest fully international, most pro-active professional organisation supporting play therapy, filial play and therapeutic play. It raising standards and promotes the use of therapeutic play skills in a variety of professions and settings. The Society performs the role of a self governing body and professional play therapy association in countries where PTI does not have an affiliated organisation.

    Certification
    Certification enables individual members to gain recognition by employers and clients through your membership of a professional organisation.

    PTI recognises the need for practitioners at all levels. Certification and accreditation is based upon successful completion of PTI accredited training and hours of supervised clinical work and meeting other requirements. These standards vary according to country:

    Canada and the USA

    European including the UK and Ireland

    Grades & Fees

    The following rates apply to direct individual membership of PTI. For countries where PTI has an Affiliate please contact your country’s organisation.

    Professionals who have been awarded a recognised/accredited qualification at least at Diploma level. Evidence of CPD is required during the year. Members will need to adhere to PTI's ethical system.

    Anyone working therapeutically with children or interested in therapeutic play, filial play, play therapy or creative arts therapies but does not have a PTI recognised/accredited qualification.
